Mr. Shell received his B.S. from Utah State University in Logan, Utah in 1978 and received his Juris Doctor from the J. Reuben Clark Law School at Brigham Young University in 1982. He began his legal practice with Robert J. DeBry and Associates in 1982 before becoming a partner with the firm of Day & Barney (now Day Shell & Liljenquist, L.C.) in 1985. He is a member of the Utah State Bar and is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of Utah, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 10th Circuit and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Mr. Shell currently concentrates his practice in the areas of Worker's Compensation with a practice before the Utah Labor Commission, Social Security Disability and Personal Injury Claims. He also has experience in family law, bankruptcy, contract disputes, and criminal defense. He was legal counsel for the Injured Workers' Association of Utah, a non-profit organization that served the public by educating workers about their rights under the Worker's Compensation system. He also served for many years as a pro-tem judge in the Murray and Sandy Small Claims Court. Mr. Shell continues to be a featured speaker at various seminars concerning workers' compensation. In his spare time he enjoys playing the banjo and is an avid free lance photographer.
